It’s Time to Get Equipped for this Battle
25 years ago, I lived in an emergency recovery home in Calgary for 2 years as a House Mom. During that time, I had the privilege of living with 43 young women fleeing the sex trade. I saw firsthand the violence and cruelty inflicted at the hands of pimps and johns (back then we didn’t use the word trafficker).
After smartphones came out, I saw these same predators move online and be given free access to all our children. Knowing what I know, having seen the tactics these men use to target unsuspecting children and families, I knew I had to speak out. That is what I have been doing ever since.
I have presented over 100 times to parents, kids, teens, churches, cause groups, and businesses. As a Mom of teens, I have many age-appropriate suggestions on how to talk to your children about the hard stuff, i.e. nudes, sextortion, trafficking, pornography, social media, poor phone habits, etc. Parents, I know you warn your children, but sometimes kids need to hear it from someone new! I am just outside of Calgary and happy to travel in the Alberta area (or beyond)!

Presentation Options
K – 3
Emphasis on face to face, minimal scheduled time on weekends, body is special and private. What to do if you see a naked pictures on a screen. Red flags on apps/games they may use.
Grade 4 – 6
This age group is especially being targeted online. Red flags in games & apps. Nudes, never take, send, receive, look, and why. Encourage face to face, real life adventure!
Grade 7 – 9
How games & sm are designed to hook you. Harms online, red flags, research findings. Dopamine, sextortion, nudes.
Grade 10 – 12
Challenge perceptions on human trafficking. Explain how it really works, who may be at risk, red flags in relationships. Porn, nudes, dopamine and how it affects the brain.
Parent Talk
A blunt, real talk about the harms related to the online world. How we may put our kids at risk. How our kids can be trafficked from their bedrooms and what our kids need from us at each stage of development.
Churches & Church Staff
The truth about porn and its impact on our culture, relationships, children and church. Red flags to watch/listen for especially among youth. Suggestions on creating a restorative culture that normalizes recovery.
Porn, Human Trafficking’s Silent Partner
It’s critical to understand the power of the porn industry, how its shaping culture, impacting relationships and fueling the global sex trade. We must teach our kids to reject it, help those addicted to it, not be brainwashed by it and protect those on the other side of the screen enslaved by it,
Social Media
The research is in. There is overwhelming evidence that social media is wreaking havoc on our young people, especially our girls! Experts are saying we are in the worse mental health crisis ever seen among youth and it can be traced back to the year 2010 – 11, when Instagram and Snapchat came out. We need to act fast!
Sextortion
Boys 12 – 17 are being aggressively targeted by gorgeous, young, flirtatous women on line! In reality, it is groups of organized crime largely young, computer-savvy men from Nigeria and the Philippines tricking boys into sending nudes and then relentlessly threatening them for money or to take their own lives. Boys must be warned before this happens! It’s a matter of great urgency.
